Toronto, ONToday, Bullfrog Power, Canada’s leading green energy provider, and Sodexo, a world leader in Quality of Life Services, are announcing a new environmental partnership. Through the partnership, Sodexo Canada will be bullfrogpowering three offices and one warehouse with green electricity as part of Sodexo’s global mandate to reduce its carbon emissions by 34 per cent by 2024, compared to a 2011 baseline.

“Businesses across Canada choose Bullfrog Power as a simple and effective way to green their operations and reduce energy-related carbon emissions,” said Ron Seftel, CEO, Bullfrog Power. “By choosing Bullfrog Power’s green electricity, Sodexo is making a significant commitment to reducing the impact of its Canadian operations in pursuit of its global emissions reduction targets.”

As a result of the agreement, Bullfrog Power ensures that green power is put into the grid to match the amount of conventional electricity that Sodexo offices in Montreal, Burlington and Vancouver, as well as its Calgary warehouse, use. Across Canada, Bullfrog’s green electricity comes from a blend of wind and low-impact hydro power sourced from new Canadian renewable energy facilities.

“Through our partnership with Bullfrog Power, Sodexo is taking important steps toward the greening of our operations by both reducing our environmental impact and supporting the development of community-based renewable energy projects,” said Katherine Power, Vice President, Communications and Corporate Affairs, Sodexo Canada.

Sodexo was recently named the top-rated company in its sector on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the 13th consecutive year. DJSI, a leading global sustainability benchmark and reference for sustainable investing, evaluates performance in three principal dimensions: economic, social and environmental.
