Johnstown, ON—King’s Lock Craft Distillery, a new craft distillery located in Johnstown, 5 Newport Drive, is announcing that its Opening Ceremony is taking place today, August 25, 2016, at 11 am.

The ceremony will feature a short ribbon cutting dedication and a guided tour of the stills that will explain how spirits are made. King’s Lock owners, invited guests, the Mayor of Edwardsburgh/Cardinal and King’s Lock Craft Distillery’s environmental partner, Bullfrog Power, will be on hand for the event. In addition, sample tastings will be offered to attendees after the opening dedications. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

“We are excited to have established our business in the community and hope to contribute to the tourism sector for the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville,” said Laura Bradley, Co-owner, King’s Lock Craft Distillery. “We believe that small batch distilling produces a quality product based on the dedication and attention given to each run.”

King’s Lock is a small batch craft distillery focused on the production of organic spirits and dedicated to sustainable and green principles. The company sources all of the grains it uses locally, only uses certified organic ingredients and has implemented a number of environmental initiatives, including:

• a water recycling program;
• grain mash recycling for use in cattle feed, fertilizer and more;
• installation of energy efficient LED lighting; and
