Bullfrog Power® partners with Siemens Canada to provide 100 per cent clean, pollution-free electricity for two Ontario locations

Toronto—Bullfrog Power, Canada’s leading green energy provider, and Siemens Canada are announcing that Bullfrog Power will provide clean, renewable electricity for Siemens’ Canadian headquarters in Oakville, Ontario, and the new Trench Limited offices in Pickering, Ontario.

“Sourcing green energy for our facilities with Bullfrog Power is a natural extension of our commitment to advancing renewable energy in Canada and to ‘walking the talk’ when it comes to reducing our environmental footprint,” said Robert Hardt, President and CEO, Siemens Canada.

Through the agreement, Bullfrog Power’s generators put 100 per cent green electricity onto the grid to match the amount of electricity used at Siemens’ Canadian headquarters in Oakville and its offices at the Pickering manufacturing facility for Trench Limited, a Siemens company. Bullfrog’s green electricity comes exclusively from wind and hydro facilities that have been certified as low impact by Environment Canada under its EcoLogoM program.

“Bullfrog Power is proud to partner with Siemens Canada, a leading supplier of renewable energy solutions and efficiency technologies,” said Anthony Santilli, Vice President, Commercial Sales and Marketing, Bullfrog Power. “By choosing renewable electricity with Bullfrog, Siemens is reducing its environmental impact, supporting new renewable energy project development and helping to create a cleaner, healthier environment.”

In 2013 Siemens Canada was named as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers for a second consecutive year. The distinction recognizes employers that lead the nation in creating a culture of environmental awareness in their organizations. Siemens Canada’s choice of green energy with Bullfrog Power furthers this effort as a part of a robust sustainability program that includes:

  • Growing the Siemens environmental portfolio;
  • Ensuring resource efficiency, health and safety along the value chain;
  • Positively impacting the communities in which Siemens Canada’s employees live and work through corporate social responsibility programs; and
  • Partnering with national and international institutions to promote thought leadership around sustainability issues.
