Toronto—The Sheepdogs—the three-time JUNO Award-winning rock band from Saskatoon—are announcing that they are reducing the environmental impact of their shows by partnering with Bullfrog Power, Canada’s leading green energy provider.
The Sheepdogs drummer, Sam Corbett, already chooses Bullfrog’s green energy for his home. As Corbett explains, “it made sense to me that what I’m already doing to support green energy for my home is something that we could also do for the band.”
Throughout the summer, The Sheepdogs’ concerts are being bullfrogpowered with clean, pollution-free electricity. That means that Bullfrog Power’s generators put 100 per cent green electricity onto the grid to match the power consumption of The Sheepdogs’ shows. Across Canada, Bullfrog’s green electricity comes from a blend of wind and low-impact hydro power sourced from new Canadian renewable energy facilities.
Recently, Josephine Coombe, Bullfrog Power’s Vice President of Marketing was able to sit down with Sam Corbett of The Sheepdogs to discuss their music, their perspective on the environment, and their support for clean, renewable energy in Canada—to see that interview, go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgfa7uXOQN0.
“Musicians and artists have an important place in society because they can reach youth with a vision for a better future and inspire action,” says Coombe. “By supporting renewable energy with Bullfrog Power, The Sheepdogs along with thousands of Canadians across the country are helping us to build a cleaner, brighter future together.”
The Sheepdogs bullfrogpowered shows are ongoing through the summer of 2014. For more information on the band, including tour dates, visit www.thesheepdogs.com.
