On June 29, Ellershouse Wind Farm in Nova Scotia unveiled three new wind turbines! The wind farm now has seven Enercon E-92 wind turbines operating with a total capacity of 16.1 megawatts—which is enough to power 4,900 Nova Scotian homes. More than 70 attended the ribbon cutting ceremony, including representatives and customers from Bullfrog Power, East Coast Credit Union, developer Minas Energy, and Alternative Resource Energy Authority (AREA).

Each organization played a specific role in the development of Ellershouse Wind Farm. Bullfrog Power helped support the launch and expansion of the wind farm, and sources the green power produced by the facility for its Maritime customers, including East Coast Credit Union. Minas Energy is a Nova-Scotia based renewable energy developer that constructed the turbines. AREA—a partnership between the Towns of Antigonish, Berwick and Mahone Bay in Nova Scotia—owns and operates the project.

Bullfrog’s support for the project was made possible by bullfrogpowered businesses such as East Coast Credit Union, as well as thousands of customers across the country. Thank you again for supporting renewable energy in Canada!

East Coast Credit Union is a local bullfrogpowered organization that attended the launch. “We are pleased to be working with local communities to make our province more environmentally sustainable,” says Ken Shea, CEO of East Coast Credit Union. “By choosing Bullfrog Power for our branch operations and ATMs, combined with our own efficiency initiatives, we’re demonstrating environmental leadership and supporting local renewable energy projects such as the Ellershouse Wind Farm.”

Thanks again to the bullfrogpowered community for its support!
