“There is a premium cost to Bullfrog Power, but we felt it was worth it! At Steam Whistle Brewing we are already used to sourcing premium all-natural ingredients for our beer and we wanted to try to further reduce the footprint we leave on this earth by sourcing the cleanest energy available.”
Cam Heaps and Greg Taylor
Steam Whistle Brewing Co-founders
Steam Whistle Brewing has been crafting its distinctive, award-winning Pilsner since 1998. Steam Whistle Pilsner is naturally carbonated, non-pasteurized and uses just four all-natural ingredients, including spring water.
Steam Whistle Brewing employs a number of environmental initiatives at their brewery, including efficient District Steam Heat and Deep Lake Water Cooling in manufacturing and building climate control. Their glass bottles last more than twice as long as standard industry bottles and their painted label eliminates any glue and paper waste associated with refilling. Steam Whistle packaging waste is recycled and Steam Whistle’s “spent grain” after brewing is even reused as farmer’s feed.
Steam Whistle Brewing is located in the historic John Street Roundhouse, a former Canadian Pacific Rail steam locomotive repair facility located at the base of the CN Tower in Toronto. Steam Whistle offers tours of their facility every hour, seven days a week, and the Roundhouse also hosts parties and events, accommodating up to 750 people.
Steam Whistle Pilsner is available in Ontario and Alberta.
