“Cutting carbon emissions across our group of companies by 50 per cent by the end of this year is one piece of our commitment to helping build a more sustainable future. This investment in renewable energy, which will help us meet that goal, is ultimately an investment in the health and wellbeing of our people and our planet, and affirms our support of renewable energy development in Canada.”

The Co-operators

In January 2014, The Co-operators began sourcing renewable energy through Bullfrog Power for the head offices of subsidiaries Co-operators Life Insurance Company in Regina and The Sovereign General in Calgary, as well as four corporate offices in Alberta and New Brunswick. As part of its Sustainability Strategy, The Co-operators aims to reduce net carbon emissions by 50 per cent by the end of 2014—this partnership with Bullfrog Power is an important component in helping meet this goal.
