As consumers become more environmentally conscious and more inclined to support companies that share their values, businesses must stay ahead of the sustainability curve to stay relevant.

Staples Canada is doing just that with their new Working and Learning Stores, including the newly opened location in Oakville. These stores feature bold design, interactive product discovery areas, and bullfrogpowered Solutionshops.

Solutionshops, available in all 305 Staples stores across Canada, are more than your run-of-the-mill print stores—they offer integrated services to help you design, print, and ship materials that showcase your brand. There are also marketing tools and tech support services on hand to keep your projects running smoothly.

“We’re always looking for opportunities to innovate, whether that means rethinking the very concept of printing services or finding new ways to reduce our environmental footprint,” said Gogi Grewal, Chief Transformation and Services Officer. “We’re very proud to be the second largest supporter of Bullfrog Power’s green energy in the retail sphere.”

Staples has also committed to bullfrogpowering their new in-store coworking space, Staples Studio. “Our new coworking spaces were designed with the future in mind,” said Leigh Pearson, Director of Facilities and Sustainability. “That encompasses flexible, innovative workspaces, affordable memberships, and renewable energy from Bullfrog Power. All of these elements will contribute to the success of our communities, which include small businesses, entrepreneurs, teacher, and students.”

The second Staples Studio opened on Saturday, August 10th in Oakville, while the first location has been up and running in downtown Toronto since January. Members have access to all locations, and more are planned to open across Canada.

In addition to shared and private workspaces, Oakville’s Staples Studio includes some exciting features—it has free parking, a modern Staples Spotlight event space, and a podcast studio. There’s also an ELXR Juice Lab that offers sustainably sourced cold-pressed juices and plant-based milks.

“The opening of our latest Staples Studio represents an important step in our transition to the Working and Learning Company,” said Grewal. “We want to be the partner that allows Canadians to work how they want, when they want, where they want.”
