West Coast Air

"Aviation is a carbon-intensive industry, but by systematically measuring our impact across the organization, we were able to identify areas for reduction, including renewable alternatives for our electricity."

Rick Baxter
President and CEO
West Coast Air

One of the largest scheduled seaplane operators in North America, West Coast Air flies over 200,000 passengers throughout the Pacific Northwest (or coastal British Columbia) every year.

After examining and measuring the environmental impacts made throughout its business, West Coast Air set out to reduce its footprint through a comprehensive carbon management plan. Bullfrogpowering its operations—including its head office in Vancouver and its terminals in Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo and Sechelt—is part of the airline's plan. Other initiatives include: improving efficiency in flight schedules; adopting more efficient lighting; enhancing recycling and waste management programs; and launching programs to educate employees and customers on how they can help address climate change.
