“We are thrilled to be bullfrogpowered, and we hope other municipalities across Ontario will join in the movement to clean up our air by making the choice for 100% green electricity.“
Mayor Marolyn Morrison
Town of Caledon
The Town of Caledon- a vibrant community of close to 56,800 residents - prides itself on maintaining a sustainable balance of community, environmental and development initiatives in the context of an extensive urban and rural environment in the Greater Toronto Area.
In keeping with the Town's commitment to natural preservation, Caledon has implemented and supported many progressive environmental initiatives including excellent countryside planning, the Healthy Horticultural Landscapes Bylaw, membership in the Partners for Climate Protection Program and extensive waste diversion programs.
In June 2005, Caledon Council approved the Town's Environmental Progress Action Plan. The plan identifies seven priority areas and a number of proposed actions. As part of its environmental mandate, the Town made the decision to flip the switch at the Town Hall building to clean renewable power from Bullfrog Power.
