“I believe in investing in the future of my child’s environment in the same way that I save for her post-secondary education. Supporting Bullfrog Power means that I can make a difference in her current and future world. I believe that sitting down to a meal, taking energy conservation measures, and supporting renewable power are all important family decisions. We all have the ability to make a conscious choice in these decisions – and there’s no better place to start than right here at home.” |

Chef, author and Beaches mother, Theresa Albert Ratchford, has been helping busy families eat better and find more personal time since 1995. A George Brown Hotel School graduate with 10 years’ experience in hotel catering and sales, Theresa knows first hand how important getting healthy food on the table − and taking the time to sit down to eat it − really is. As a personal chef, Theresa has cooked for clients in their own homes as well as taught them practical and healthy solutions for becoming self-sufficient in the kitchen. Theresa is an advocate of including kids in the process of cooking saying that “a child eats better when they have invested their own effort in the process.” A well-known “Beacher”, Theresa is involved in numerous community efforts including teaching a popular kids’ cooking class, supporting ABC Canada Family Literacy Day, co-leading the Metro Mothers Network Beaches Branch and chairing the Safety Committee for Norway Public School.
Theresa’s book Cook Once a week and Eat Well Every Day (Harper Collins Canada) was released to rave reviews in 2005, and is scheduled for release by Avalon Publishing throughout the US this fall. Loaded with nutrition tips and ideas for second suppers (formerly known as leftovers), Theresa’s book can be purchased at all major book stores and online at Amazon.com as well as Chapters.com.
