Going green is a breeze
Switching to Bullfrog Power is one of the easiest ways to reduce your home’s environmental impact. For homes that are separately metered and receive a bill from the local electricity utility, switching your electricity account to Bullfrog is a breeze. Simply sign up online using your current electricity account number to become a bullfrogpowered home. Your local utility then provides us with your meter read information so that we can bill you for the correct usage. We then inject EcoLogoM-certified green power onto the Ontario electricity grid to match the amount your home uses. No special equipment, no service calls. It’s that simple!
How to switch
Just complete the online application. The process usually takes less than 10 minutes. You'll need to have your electricity bill handy as we need some information about your current utility to complete the signup process.
How much does Bullfrog Power cost?
Bullfrog Power costs 8.9 cents per kilowatt hour, which for the average Ontario homeowner adds about $1 a day to the electricity bill. You can lock in this fixed rate for one year if you sign up today. If, at any time, you're not satisfied with our service, you can cancel without penalty. While Bullfrog Power does cost a little more than regular electricity, some of this increase may be avoided by taking a few simple steps to conserve electricity around your home. The other charges that appear on your electricity bill, such as charges related to maintaining Ontario's electricity grid, remain unchanged when you switch to Bullfrog Power.
What happens after I switch?
We will begin injecting clean, renewable power onto the provincial electricity grid on your behalf to match the amount your home uses. If you would like to receive one, we will also send you a welcome kit with a variety of handy items, including special home identifiers, which you may use to share the news with your neighbourhood that you are a bullfrogpowered home!
