Greening your power
Going green has never been easier – even for homes that are not separately metered or that do not receive an electricity bill directly.

Residents of condominiums (who are often billed through a third party) and apartments (who often do not receive a bill at all) can easily sign up to green their power with Bullfrog. We then ensure that EcoLogo^M-certified green power is injected onto the Ontario electricity grid to match the amount of power your home uses.

This offering is also ideal for homeowners who are locked into a long-term contract with an electricity retailer or who reside in a utility area without a meter-read agreement with Bullfrog – it allows you to layer the premium to green your electricity supply on top of your current electricity provider’s charges.

How to switch
Just complete the online application. The process usually takes less than 10 minutes. You will be asked to identify the type of residence you live in and will be given the option to enter your electricity usage (if known) or consult an average for your residence type. If you receive an electricity bill, be sure to have it handy as your usage is located there.

How much does Bullfrog Power cost?
Regardless of whether you currently receive a bill for electricity, the cost to green your power supply through Bullfrog is 3.5 cents per kWh, billed monthly. This adds less than $20 a month to the average two-bedroom condo’s electricity charges. This cost is in addition to your regular bill for electricity (or for the power costs that are absorbed within your rent if you do not currently pay directly for electricity).

Please note: if you currently pay for electricity directly, you will continue to pay for your basic electricity service through your usual payment channel (e.g., electricity retailer or third-party billing agent). You will receive a separate monthly bill from Bullfrog for the greening of your power supply.

You can lock in this fixed rate of 3.5 cents per kWh for one year if you sign up today. If, at any time, you're not satisfied with our service, you can cancel without penalty. While Bullfrog Power does add a small cost to your total electricity charge, some of this increase may be avoided by taking a few simple steps to conserve electricity around your home.

What happens after I switch?
After you sign up with Bullfrog Power, we begin injecting EcoLogo-certified green power onto the Ontario electricity grid on your behalf to match the amount your home is estimated to use. In addition, if you would like to receive one, we will send you a welcome kit with a variety of handy items, including special home identifiers that you may use to share the news with friends and family that your home is now bullfrogpowered!
