Power outage information
Your local utility is responsible for maintenance of the power lines that deliver electricity to your neighbourhood. The utility will send emergency crews to respond to any unplanned power outages in your area. Occasionally, your utility may schedule a planned outage for maintenance or repair purposes. In these cases, you will receive a notice ahead of time, and typically these planned outages are scheduled for times when they will be the least inconvenient.
Some power outages are caused by a tripped breaker or blown fuse in your electrical panel, so start by ruling out that possibility by checking to see if your neighbours are also experiencing an outage. If so, you can report the outage to your utility.
