How does it work?
Bullfrog greens your power by ensuring the electricity going onto the grid on your behalf is from clean, renewable sources, like wind and low-impact hydro—displacing energy from polluting sources.
Every month, Bullfrog Power's generators put 600 kWh of green electricity onto the grid on your behalf. $15/month or 600 kWh represents enough green electricity for a typical 1,650-square-foot home in Ontario. If you wish, you can adjust your usage with Bullfrog Power if your needs differ.
Your Bullfrog green energy premium ($15/month) is in addition to your regular electricity services and bills you receive from your utility.
Your green energy purchase is verified by Deloitte annually to ensure that your green energy was produced and accurately counted and credited to you.
Through our Bullfrog Builds Renewable Accelerator program, we also use your support to help bring new renewable energy projects online, locally within your region as well as across Canada. Read more about our projects here.

Do I need to make any changes to my home?
No. Making the choice for clean, green energy is very easy. No special equipment or wiring is required, and signing up only takes a few minutes online.
How much does it cost?
The cost to go green with Bullfrog under this special program is $15 a month, plus tax. This premium is in addition to your regular electricity costs. You must maintain your current relationship and services with your utility. The Bullfrog premium ensures that a portion of your energy is coming from clean, green sources.
Where does Bullfrog Power's green electricity come from?
Bullfrog's green electricity comes from a blend of wind and low-impact hydro power sourced from new Canadian renewable energy facilities, with at least 50% sourced directly from your region. All of our electricity sources meet the EcoLogoM certification standard, the most widely known Canadian standard for green power.
How do I know Bullfrog does what it says it does?
Your green energy purchase is verified by Deloitte annually to ensure that your renewable energy was produced and accurately counted and credited to you. We publish our green energy audit every year; our audits can be viewed here .
What if I want to cancel?
If ever supporting green power doesn't work for you anymore, you can cancel at any time with no penalty. You will just need to let our Customer Service Team know—and pay any fees incurred up to the date of cancellation.
Can rented homes, apartments and condos go green with Bullfrog?
Yes. Any facility can go green with Bullfrog Power, including homes that are owned, leased or shared.
Bullfrog Power does not inject the green electricity directly into your home. With Bullfrog Power, you continue to draw electricity from the electricity grid—just as you always have.
Bullfrog's generators put green electricity onto the grid on your behalf. We basically ensure a portion of the electricity going onto the systems on your behalf is from clean, renewable sources, displacing energy from polluting sources.
Even if you are not billed for electricity directly (e.g., renters whose energy costs are absorbed in their rent), you can still sign up for Bullfrog Power's green energy.
